01.10.20 - How To: Market on YouTube and Pinterest

Hey guys! Happy almost weekend! Today's post is going to be a longer one again since I will be covering how to market on 2 platforms again. So on that note let's jump to it!

YOUTUBE MARKETING - YouTube is a great place to market. There are several ways to go about it! Social Media Examiner went through several ways to maximize marketing on YouTube. I'm going to give you guys a brief run down and hit on the highlights!

Tip #1 - Create Your Own
Create videos that are helpful, valuable, and compelling to those you are trying to reach! If it is something you want to share, make it a video! Videos can capture so many things that words or pictures cannot.

Tip #2 - Use Annotations
Annotations can help you get subscribers. Annotations are calls to action. Those can take you to other videos or to subscribe. These help viewers and they also help you!

Tip #3 - Use YouTube Ads
You can pay to be featured at the top of certain search requests, kind of like with Google ads. You can also pay more to be an ad before someone watches a video.

Tip #4 - Use YouTube Insights
YouTube has their own analytics tool. It shows who's watching and how they found them. This information helps you find what works and what doesn't.

Next is PINTEREST. Pinterest is one of the more different social media sites. It is not so much about having a typical feed, but more search related. But it is still really good!! Peg gives some good tips on her site that I want to share with you!

Tip #1 - Create Boards with Keywords
In your titles use key words. Pinterest is great when it comes to searching. It helps you out if you have keywords in your board titles that are appealing towards your target market and your product.

Tip #2 - Create Vertical Images
By using vertical images you can maximize the space you have. You want people to be able to see the most when they are scrolling. By having a vertical image they are able to see the whole thing.

Tip #3 - Build Relevant Links
With each pin you  can add your website link twice. You can link in the description and one in the source. Do both!

Tip #4 - Get Analytics
If you use a business account you have access to analytics. You are able to see what interactions you have and where to go from there.

Tip #5 - Use Rich Pins
This was a term I did not know until reading this, but basically what it means is to use metatarsi. A rich pin requires some meta tagging to get yourself seen!

Now Pinterest is a little different when it comes to advertising. The more  content you have on here the better it will be instead of paying for ads. YouTube is also great for having your own content. I love how social media lets businesses get their name out there by simply just having an account. They can be a contributor in the same way as everyone else, they just can show off who they are as a business and gain your attention.
Thanks guys for sticking this long one out! I hope you enjoyed it. As always feel free to drop a comment and let me know what you think!

xx
