01.13.20 - How To: Market on Twitter and LinkedIn

Hey guys! Today we are going to talk about marketing on Twitter and LinkedIn. For those of you who are younger, these two platforms might seem a little outdated. However, they are great platforms for the right target market. I am going to dive into this today. Hope you enjoy!

First up is TWITTER. Personally I love Twitter. I think it kind of shows the humorous side in people and almost is a place people feel the most free out of all social media platforms. According to Practical E-commerce they provide 25 tips for marketing on Twitter. I want to share a few of those with you to help you better market there!

Tip 1 - Interact and Respond
Reply to tweets to your business, both positive and negative. People want to be heard so it is great when you show them that you are listening.

Tip 2 - Keep Tweets Short
Tweets are already shorter with them being under 140 characters. However, no one wants to read one that long. Keep it short and to the point so someone can add content to it and just to keep attention.

Tip 3 - Tweet Often
Tweets get forgotten easily and can get lost in the feed. Don't be afraid to tweet at least once day to help boost recognition.

Tip 4 - Include Different Media Types
Twitter allows you to post several media types with your tweet. Mix it up and use more than one if possible.

Tip 5 - Use Hashtags
Hashtags let you organize tweets. Twitter is the place of hashtags. Use them to make yourself more visible.

Hopefully these tips by Practical E-commerce can help you out. There are a few more on their site so feel free to check it out!

Now we can jump into LinkedIn. In my mind LinkedIn is a place for professionals and people who are looking for jobs. However it can be a great place to market on! LinkedIn has their own site on how to market there so let's take a look at that!

Tip 1 - Create yYour Own Profile
Profiles = first impressions online. By creating your own profile it lets people see who is behind the business and gain more information.

Tip 2 - Optimize Your Search
Insert keywords, link to your company page, share content, etc. Make your company page SEO friendly!

Tip 3 - Publish Engaging Content
Publish what your target audience finds interesting. People invest time in LinkedIn and want something that can be engaging to them.

Tip 4 - Sponsor Your Best Content
Sponsoring is advertising on LinkedIn. This gives you the ability to promote yourself directly into the feed of professionals.

Tip 5 - Create Ad Campaigns
These can help improve your targeting and your optimization. These are a great way to get your name out there and to get exposure.

Overall I hope you guys enjoyed the past fews of post about marketing! It has been a great journey of learning for me and I can't wait to see where the blogging goes from here. Let me know what you think in the comments below!

  1. I like your point about using hashtags. That is something that I did not think about. Hashtags are a great way for your company to be involved in events or topics that are trending.
